A tragic accident near Medina, Saudi Arabia, has left India in shock as 45 Indian Umrah pilgrims are feared dead after their bus collided with a diesel tanker. The incident took place around 25 kilometres before Medina on Monday, November 17, 2025.


Officials confirmed that 46 passengers were on the bus and only one survivor has been found so far. The lone survivor is receiving treatment at a local hospital. Many of the passengers on board were residents of Hyderabad, Telangana, according to the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).


Deadly Collision Near Medina


The bus was travelling from Mecca to Medina, carrying Indian nationals who had completed their Umrah pilgrimage.


Initial reports indicate:

  • The bus collided with a diesel tanker.

  • The impact triggered a massive fire, leaving no time for escape.

  • One person survived and is undergoing treatment.
